Out of your room and straight onto the slope!

Thanks to its ideal location on the foot of the Schmittenhöhe, the B&B by Zillner has direct access to the vast winter sports area. The Schmittenhöhebahn valley station is just 100 metres away, laying the foundation for a surely unforgettable winter in Zell am See.

Three top-class ski regions await with a total of 408 kilometres of slopes, all of which can be explored seamlessly with a combined ticket. The Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun and the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn leave nothing to be desired. In the evening, ski back to the front door and enjoy the fantastic cuisine of the neighbouring Schmittenhof.

You can buy ski passes at the Schmittenhof reception, saving unnecessary waiting times and ensuring an immediate start to your skiing and boarding. What’s more, ski tours and winter hikes start right at the front door.

Winter guests also appreciate the ideal infrastructure of the B&B by Zillner alongside the Schmittenhof hotel services. Comfortable rooms ensure a restful night’s sleep, making you fit for the next day’s adventures. A trip to the spa area is also never a bad idea. Various saunas and steam baths, an infrared cabin and the particularly cosy relaxation area ease your sore muscles and bring body and mind into welcome harmony.

The Schmittenhof also takes care of your physical well-being, with breakfast from the buffet, a varied evening menu and a good glass of wine at the house bar. Look forward to selected alpine cuisine with creative local and international ideas.

Would you like to eat out? We recommend Flos Restaurant in the Boutique Hotel Martha, just a two-minute walk away. The inviting casual dining atmosphere offers the ideal setting for traditional local cuisine with a modern touch and a constant regional emphasis.

Spend your winter in Zell am See at the B&B by Zillner and enjoy fantastic views with great activities!

Skiing

Hit the slopes together

The Ski ALPIN CARD is your ticket to almost limitless alpine fun. It combines the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun and our local mountain, the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See. Enjoy access to a total of 408 kilometres of slopes right outside the bed and breakfast. It doesn’t get any better than this!

The excellently prepared slopes – flat and wide for families, fast and challenging for pros – will immediately cast a spell over you. A little rest stop always pays off. The huts and mountain inns serve savoury, sweet and hearty food. A short break on the sun terrace afterwards is a must.

The best conditions, the best snow, the best slopes, the best panorama: this is what skiing is all about.

Ski mountaineering

Adventures for ski mountaineers

The towering, snow-covered rocky giants around the bed and breakfast not only offer skiers and snowboarders the best conditions on perfectly groomed slopes. Ski mountaineers also appreciate the unspoilt ascents and descents. One favourite is the Ronachkopf in Thumersbach, reserved exclusively for ski mountaineers.

The former Thumersbach ski region now offers a varied ski tour for both beginners and advanced skiers. 2.5 km in length, around 500 metres in altitude and with fantastic views of the Schmittenhöhe – these are the ingredients for touring bliss. And after a short stop at the Einzianhütte, it’s back downhill again.

Winter hiking

On cleared paths

The Schmittenhöhe is not only a home to skiers; it also boasts marvellous winter hiking trails. Zell’s local mountain shines brightly in the sun on the regularly cleared paths. You’ll love the marvellous tranquillity, with views of more than 30 three-thousand-metre peaks. And if you want to explore even more remote spots, you can strap on snowshoes and set off on a guided tour through the deep snow.

A winter in Zell am See offers beauty in the valley, too. Take a leisurely stroll along the Seepromenade – the perfect way to explore the marvellous winter landscape at your leisure!
